St. Michael’s Foundation supports the extraordinary work of one of the largest and best teaching hospitals in Canada.

Tax dollars pay for some health care services, but not all of them. New technologies and research opportunities emerge every day. That’s why our fundraising efforts are so important.

Donations helped the Hospital fund the purchase of Toronto’s first robotic surgical system, create a new Women’s Health Centre, and build the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, comprised of the Keenan Research Centre and the Li Ka Shing International Centre in Health Care Education.

Our health care professionals are among the best anywhere and they are in high demand.

In 2010, St. Michael’s registered more than 62,000 visits to the emergency department including 541 priority trauma cases. The Hospital booked 440,000 appointments for clinics and 260,000 visits for diagnostic and therapeutic care and supported 26,000 inpatient visits.
