Do you, your family and friends, or a group you belong to want to do something special that benefits St. Michael’s and our patients? Why not organize a community fundraiser?

Your event can celebrate your own recovery or honour those you cared for you.  Your event can also raise funds and awareness for a specific area of need at our hospital. It’s a wonderful way to support St. Michael’s.

 

Getting Started

 

Here are some of the ways we can help you make your event a success. We can provide you with the following support:

 

  • Offer advice on event planning 
  • Provide a letter of support to validate the authenticity of the event  
  • Promote your event on the Events page of the Foundation website 
  • When possible, promote your event in Hospital and Foundation newsletters
  • When possible, arrange for staff or volunteers to attend the event and/or accept a cheque presentation
  • Issue tax receipts to individual donors in accordance with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines
  • Send letters of acknowledgement to businesses for their donations and sponsorships

 

Limitations of Foundation Support 

 

There are a few things we can't do to support your community event. Please note we cannot:

 

  • Fund or reimburse any of the event expenses 
  • Share our mailing list of donors or volunteers 
  • Guarantee staff or volunteer support and/or attendance at your event 
  • Provide applications for gaming licenses, permits, insurance 
  • Provide prizes, auction items, awards
  • Accept funds raised from Texas Hold ‘Em Poker events
