Donating to our Angel Care Fund is one of the easiest and most popular ways to support St. Michael’s Foundation.

A busy, urban hospital can’t always plan for priority needs – but our needs are great. Whether they be research initiatives, equipment purchases, recruitment of new medical leaders and investing in key program areas.

The Angel Care Fund, made up of one-time gifts from donors like you, enables us to respond to the needs of the hospital, like purchasing new birthing beds for the Don and Lillian Meighen Wright Maternity Centre and a new electrocardiogram machine for our Mobility Program.

The Angel Care Fund supports world-leading diabetes expert Dr. Richard Gilbert, who is investigating new therapies to prevent—and in some cases reverse—the onset of diabetes-related complications like kidney and cardiovascular disease.

One grateful patient turned donor is John Skogstad.  What started as a simple operation turned into triple bypass surgery for John, who didn’t realize he’d had a heart attack.

“I was completely unaware that anything was wrong. Going in that day probably saved me. Thankfully I came through it alive.”

Today, John visits us nearly every month to make his gift in person. “I liked it here when I was a patient, and I see the good work that the hospital is doing now.”

The generosity of people like John ensures St. Michael’s will continue to provide the best possible care. Every gift brings us a step closer to fulfilling our funding priorities.
