Agnico-Eagle's story
I go back a long way with this Hospital, starting with stitches in my lip and a bill for two dollars – that was in the fifties.

“I go back a long way with this Hospital," says James D. Nasso, Chair of the Board of Agnico-Eagle, a Canadian-based mining company, "starting with stitches in my lip and a bill for two dollars – that was in the fifties.”

“Special people make special places and good people do good things - and St. Michael's is a very special place for me and all of us at Agnico-Eagle. Thank you.”

“Several of our people have been helped at St. Michael's and many of our children have been born here. Recently our General Counsel Greg Laing received fantastic care here. Greg commutes in from Oakville to our offices on King street, just around the corner. He was leaving Union Station when suddenly he collapsed and suffered a severe heart attack. A stranger – a Good Samaritan – performed CPR and got him to St. Mike's.”

“Dr. John Graham looked after him and warned us that because Greg had been out for 40 minutes that he might not be the same after. But with your help, he pulled through and now he's back at work and his old self again. After visiting with him, CEO Sean Boyd and I decided we should do something for St. Mike's. We want to say thank you to great physicians like Dr. Lee Errett who has provided tremendous care and support. I'm pleased to announce that Agnico-Eagle is giving $2 million toward the campaign for the new Patient Tower.”
