“I love my doctor like my mother,” says Catherine MacNeil. “I see her every month. Two needles in my back and she sends me on my way. My tumour is stable.”
It has been this way for 10 years now. “When Dr. Haq first diagnosed me in 2000, she told me I didn’t have a lot of time.
The tumour in my bowel was cancer. I had surgery right away to remove it and we’ve been watching it ever since,” she says.
My faith in God and the care I have had from Dr. Haq has given me another chance.

“My faith in God and the care I have had from Dr. Haq has given me another chance.”
“Dr. Haq is always there for me,” she says. “When my sister died, I came to see Dr. Haq so I could cry on her shoulder. She is just so caring.”
In honour of Dr. Haq, Catherine has made a gift to St. Michael’s. “When you face the possibility of dying, you want to do something that makes a difference. I put St. Michael’s in my will so I can help other patients who are going through the same experience as me.”
