Breaking New Ground for Inspire 2018

Friday, April 17 was a milestone day for St. Michael's Hospital as Dr. Eric Hoskins, the Minister of Health and Long-Term Care, our signature donors to the campaign, hospital and foundation board members, and friends and family of the hospital gathered to mark the official launch of the construction phase of Inspire 2018.

The event was a chance to thank signature donors Peter Gilgan, Gary and Donna Slaight, Element Financial, all other generous supporters as well as Honorary Campaign Chair The Hon. Margaret McCain, Campaign Co-Chairs Tony Arrell, John Cassaday and Bill Downe and the Campaign Cabinet. Our thanks also go to former Co-Chair John Tory. To date this remarkable group has raised $182 million towards our goal of $210 million.

As CEO Dr. Bob Howard noted in his remarks, "Inspire 2018 promises to transform care at the hospital with the new Peter Gilgan Patient Care Tower, the twice-as-large Slaight Family Emergency, the Element Financial Atrium and Way, and other vital projects as we become Canada’s premier critical care hospital.”
