St. Michael’s is ushering in a new era of inspired care and inspiring science with the success of our $140 million Advancing Care. Every Day. Campaign.
Dr. Robert Howard, president and CEO of St. Michael’s says, “Thanks to the work of many volunteers, our foundation and our staff, we’ve funded more than 130 projects across the hospital! We can all appreciate how important these funds are in helping us take better care of our patients.”
The success of this campaign meant
- 17 patient areas renovated, including the Health Centre at 410 Sherbourne and a Women’s Health Centre
- 22 new educational initiatives
- 34 new pieces of equipment, including Toronto’s first surgical robotics system
- 35 research programs got a boost
- the creation of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, comprised of the Keenan Research Centre and the Li Ka Shing International Centre in Health Care Education
This campaign is the most recent milestone in a history of highly successful fundraising campaigns for St. Michael’s.
- In 2004-2005, we raised more than $5 million to build the Robert W. McRae Heart Health Unit and the Allen T. Lambert Trauma & Neurosurgery Intensive Care Unit.
- In 2001-2004, the “It all Starts with Caring” Campaign raised $57 million for the new CIBC Breast Centre, Fracture Clinic and the Terrence Donnelly Day Surgery Centre.
- In 1995-1998, the “Urban Angel” Campaign raised $22.1 million to upgrade surgical suites and create the Rotary Transition Centre.
Through the years, our generous supporters have helped St. Michael’s provide the best health care possible. We couldn’t do it without them.
